Grant is a 1 yr old Border Collie mix. He is a really sweet dog, who loves to be with his people. He loves to chase a ball, but does not yet understand the concept of bringing it back. He loves playing with my other dog, and is always wagging his tail at the neighbor dogs. He is potty trained and will whine to let you know when he has to go out, but if he gets busy playing, sometimes he forgets. But he has only had a couple accidents. He can be left unattended, and doesn’t get into much. He likes to drag his blanket around to where he wants to sleep and occasionally has dragged other things like a sock, but did not chew it up. He did chew up a few pencils my son left out, but really isn’t a destructive dog. He has not been around children younger than 12 or cats, so we are not sure how he will behave around them. He knows to sit for his food, and is learning to wait a little more patiently. We are still in the process of teaching him to walk well on a leash, so he still pulls quite a bit and will need additional training. When really excited, he does jump up on us, but is starting to learn what “down” means. He does get crated for a few hours when I am not home, since I have other dogs, and he doesn’t love his crate, but will go in for a cheese filled Kong, and will stay quiet while I am gone. The system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes. We appreciate you stopping by.
