Description:

Kallie is a spayed female purebred German shorthaired pointer, docked tail, dew claws removed. She is approx 8yrs old and weighs about 60lbs.  At some point in Kallie's life something happened to her that made her leery of other dogs when they get to close to her and she has allot of fear and anxiety stemming from whatever happened?  She may have been mistreated or left kenneled for a long time, perhaps she was not socialized with dogs when she was young or separated from her mother prior to 8 weeks when something traumatic happened?  Regardless, she is good with the dogs in the pack at her foster home while supervised but most likely has some fear aggression of other dogs.

All we know about Kallie is that she was surrendered to a shelter when her owner passed away. We are recommending a home with an assertive/confinent owner.  No cats or young children (in her zest for life she may accidently knock a little one down).  She is super sweet on people and loves attention, so Kallie would make a great running partner; she also loves to play fetch, wade in the kiddy pool & will even pick up her toys & put them in a pile.  Kallie comes when you call her but is 'birdie' not sure if she has ever hunted or if she is 'gun shy' or not.  On her daily (1 1/2 hour) walks she is very interested in squirrel, rabbit, and birds she sees on her hike.

Kallie is being rehabilitated and with time and patience hopefully someone that likes a challenge will consider opening there heart and home to this loving GSP.

Kallie must be contained in physical fencing.  Absolutely no invisible fences, underground, or shock collars.

If you are interested in giving Kallie the loving forever home she deserves please fill out an adoption application. For more information please contact the foster at aspmis@yahoo.com

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
