Jam was left on a roadway by a farm and Animal Control was called to pick him up. Needless to say, he was very hungry! Jam was in pretty rough shape when we got him but is doing much better now. He is a friendly little guy now that his belly is full and he has gained weight. Jam likes the wood burning stove to curl up by and chew his bones. He is crate trained and housebroken and rate traained already. (He surprised us when he simply sat by the door to go “outside”.)
Jam has a non-contagious skin condition (Demodex) that will require daily medication and weekly baths until the end of May. This is a result of his previous poor body condition and decreased immunity. Once his skin has cleared up he will be able to be fixed, he is getting healthier and happier everyday!
Jam is a smart boy and knows sit, inside, wait and enjoys little treats off a spoon every once a while ;)
He still acts like a pup, jumps on you, likes to chew so have lots of bones around and is learning hat those are his. He will take toys out of the toybox and put them in a pile in the dining room, one at a time. I pick them up and put them back in the living room, he will spend an hour taking them back one at a time. Of course he has to play with one before going back to get another :)
Update May 22: Jam has finished with his daily treatments. His skin test came back negative for demodex and he has been neutered. What a cute little guy! At 30 lbs, he won't get much bigger. He still likes to play, especially with his 70 lb buddy Cynder. Jam will chase a ball and sometimes bring it ALL the way back to you. He loves, loves, loves the kiddie pool to splash around in!
Jam just might be for you if you enjoy and affectionate, playful dog that gives kisses! He looks forward to finding his forever home where he will never be dumped again! For more information about Jam please contact his foster Denise at email@example.com
