Venus is a very sweet, beautiful young lady! She is probably a little less than a year old, so she may have a little more growing to do, and of course she has lots of puppy energy and love to give. She loves playing with toys and will take her favorites into her crate with her to snuggle. Fetching her toys is another of her favorite games.Venus is currently living in a home with another dog and a cat, and she loves both! Her play style with cats involves games of chase and nibbling, so any cats in a new home would need to be very dog tolerant. She is very gentle and submissive with other dogs, but loves to play with them. Licking them in the face and ears is one of her favorite ways to share her love for her canine friends! She also likes to communicate with her playmates by howling! Venus is also very friendly with people, and loves to spend time snuggling and being petted. She loves to give kisses and licks to the people she loves! At first meeting, she can be a little shy, particularly with large groups. After spending some time with new friends, however, she settles down and is very friendly. She has not been around children very much, but would likely do well around them with supervision. She did spend a weekend around a baby, and was very gentle and attentive! As with any dog, close supervision around babies and children would be necessary.
Venus has a medium energy level, and will do well with long walks or runs and playtime on a daily basis. She is learning leash walking skills and other basic obedience. Since she is a puppy and has had little training, she pulls hard on the leash and is also afraid of cars. However, she learns quickly and is very eager to please! She is also doing very well with potty training, and will go on command. It is very important that her new family be willing to take her to basic obedience and socialization classes. Venus LOVES her crate! She often goes inside to snuggle with her toys or take naps.
Venus has been fully vetted, and aside from having some trouble with balance and coordination, she is a healthyyoung lady. Luckily, she has been tested to rule out any major health issues that could be causing her coordination problems. With a little extra help getting acclimated to her surroundings, she should do just fine in a new home.
If you are interested in giving Venus the loving, forever home she deserves, please fill out an application or contact her foster, Amber, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.
The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do o ur best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes. We appreciate you stopping by.
