Description:

Susie Q is a happy, independent girl who loves the outdoors. She loves car rides and going for walks. She is very gentle taking treats from your hand and will do about anything for a treat. She knows the trick "shake" and loves to show off her talent. Susie is fully housetrained and is also very good for a bath. Susie Q will do best in a home without cats. Susie requires either a privacy fence or be on leash as she can climb a 6ft fence.

Susie was recently diagnosed with laryngeal paralysis and had surgery to tie back her larynx so that she can breath. She has a much better quality of life now, but this condition must be monitored closely for the remainder of her life because it is degenerative. She takes meds three times a day (for life) 30 min prior to eating. She will need a special diet and must eat out of a raised container or be hand fed. This will help ensure that she does not aspirate any of her food and develop pneumonia.

If you have any other questions about Susie's condition her foster mom will be happy to discuss them with you. Email her at

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption.  AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification.  The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted.  If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip.  Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times.  Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
