Description:

Sara is my name and I am looking for a family to adopt me. I have a beautiful brindle coat with matching auburn eyes. I am up-to-date on my vaccinations, microchipped and spayed already. I am what they call a Mountain Cur/Plott Hound? I'm on the smaller side for a Plott Hound, so my foster mom is thinking Cur or Cur mix? I was abandoned at the shelter, and there were so many younger puppies there that I got overlooked. My foster mom came finally and got me out of the small cages where I could not play. I have been practicing crate training, leash walking, and basic commands. I am miss versatility! I am very sweet and gentle with children and would make a wonderful family dog. I am also agile and smart and would make an awesome agility dog.

I am already house broken and good with other dogs, kids and cats. I love everyone! I am still young and full of energy so please have a fenced yard for me to run and play in. I need lots of exercise so if you want a running buddy I'm your dog! It is recommended that I go to a home with no small children because I do like to rough house and nip when I play. I just need to learn how to play properly. If you see me growling and barking at an event please know I am just overstimulated by all the excitement, and you are more than welcome to visit me to see my true personality. I enjoy playing during playtime and love to cuddle when its time  to rest.  I am looking for a FOREVER home with a family that will play with me and will continue to teach me new things.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
