Description:
On one of the coldest days of the year, I was a homeless puppy, walking around looking for food and warmth. A nice person found me and eventually a Last Day Dog Rescue volunteer came and picked me up. I am so glad to be safe and warm in a foster home.

While in this nice warm home, I was welcomed by a bunch of dogs that I loved to play with. Over time, I started to realize that I want to be the only dog in the house because I just love attention too much to share the spotlight. I love people and I do prefer a pretty laid back environment. My foster family has figured out that I was mistreated by men in the past, as I tend to be pretty scared of them. I bond much more easily with females. I had a rough life, so I would love to live with a female...if there's a guy in your household, I just need a lot of time and patience to learn to trust! I've been known to become so bonded with my family that I distrust new dogs and people, and warn them to back off from you and from our yard. With training, I can be taught to accept strangers more easily.

I have very soft fur and floppy ears. I have white tipped toes and tail - I might be part Border Collie. I have a chocolate coat and exceptional green eyes!

I'm working on my manners and I am learning to walk beside you (I'm really good at that). I don't bark much. In fact, I hardly bark at all. I learned to sit for treats and walk after you out the door. I'm already a very good girl, but of course I could always be better if you take me to a training class! I LOVE playing in the backyard and splashing in the kiddie pool, but I do need a tall fence.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
