Description:
This sweet little girl was surrendered to a shelter with a wound to her leg from being shot. Her owner wanted to kill her because they did not want to pay or deal with long term bandage/splint changes. Now Mercy is with with LDDR, recovering in a foster home. We feel the leg can be saved but Mercy will need weeks of healing and amputation IF the leg does not heal well. The fracture cannot be repaired because of the wound. The fracture is of the ulna and SHOULD heal without surgery. Treatment would be a matter of waiting, and bandage changes. She will be spayed when the leg heals. Mercy has a second chance at life and is waiting to find her forever home!

Mercy is a very sweet girl. She enjoys other dogs. She is a little too curious about cats and wants to chase and play with them. She is housebroken and crate trained. She is very affectionate. She still requires frequent visits to the vet for care of her leg fracture and wound. Mercy is on crate rest right now to help her leg heal but it is expected to totally heal without surgery.  She loves to cuddle!

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
