Description:

Margo loves to snuggle, give kisses, laze about with you or go patrol the yard.  She is a typical German Shepherd and bonds to her people tightly.  Margo is very active for a dog with 3 legs. She plays ball as if she had four and is building her strength and endurance everyday. She is able to chase the ball 5-7 times before needing a rest.  She can leap over baby gates- no problem.  Nothing is stopping this sweetie.
When it comes to eating, Margo isn’t shy. She knows how to sit and wait for her person to tell her it is “ok” to eat. And speaking of obedience, her sit command is very good. She also has to sit before the ball gets thrown for her. Down is not quite as reliable, but coming along. Margo is crate trained and has not had any potty accidents in her foster home, so she is housebroken.

Margo is a special case and is not the right dog for just anybody. She has some fear and trust issues that will require kindness and patience especially upon the initial meeting. Once she does bond, she bonds tightly. She is very affectionate and loves pets, scratches, and kisses.   Margo was shot by a person walking down the sidewalk for no reason. As a result of the gun shot wound, Margo lost her right front leg. She has since healed from her amputation surgery and is learning how to live life on 3 legs.

Margo wants to be your one and only true love. She doesn’t want to share you or her space with another dog.  She is dog-aggressive and just thinks that she should be the center of someone’s world. It doesn’t seem to matter if the other dog is large or small, she has shown aggression toward both.

The right home for Margo will need to be with someone who has dog experience and knowledge of canine behavior. She wants to be a wonderful pet.  Given the right situation, she will be all you could want.  Because of our limited knowledge to her background, we would not recommend her to a home with small children. She has not been exposed to kids in her foster home and it is not known how she would behave with little ones.

After a rough life on the streets, Margo needs a great, forever home.

*Margo is a courtesy post and may not be microchipped

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
