Description:

This little sweet-pea is brand new to LDDR.  He was found inside the outdoor kennel at River Rouge AC.  Due to his good behavior and gentle demeanor, we believe he came from a family, but despite numerous attempts to locate his owner, no one came to claim him. Pierre is estimated to be about 8-10 years old and has cataracts although he still sees very well.  He is gentle and good natured, but does not like a lot of handling.  He is a little uncertain of all the recent changes and stays close to his foster mom.  Pierre is residing with several other dogs in his foster home and has had no problems with any of them, although he seems to prefer calm dogs over the more active ones.  Pierre is a bit yappy when first crated, but settles down after a while, although he has been very good in the house and may not need a crate.  He is said to bark when he needs to go out and for treats; he also sits for treats.  He has a healthy appetite, is very alert and learns quickly.  Pierre is UTD on his shots and neutered.  An all-adult home and fenced yard is preferred for this little guy.  If you have questions about Pierre or would like to meet him, please contact his foster mom at j-jarret@att.net .

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
