Description:
Meet Grizzy! He goes by the name Griffey though :) He was saved from a shelter and is one of the cuddliest dogs you'll ever meet. He came to us with missing fur and in a pretty rough physical state, but he has since made a full recovery and is looking great! He has a gorgeous blue merle coat with stunning blue and brown mixed eyes. Passersby love to tell us what a beautiful dog he is, and we have to agree :)

Griffey loves to be near his people and show his love for them. As soon as we come home, his tail wags like crazy as he drops to the ground for a tummy rub and some snuggling, which is his favorite thing to do. Griffey will walk right up to you and press his forehead against you for a pet. He is a very affectionate dog and makes a great companion.

As an Aussie mix, Griffey displays very typical Aussie behavior and will need a home that has experience with his breed. He bonds strongly to his family and will need a strong handler that is comfortable facilitating proper introductions, as he can be protective when new people are in his home. Griffey is great with kids and will do fine with anyone he is fully introduced to, but would do best in a home without children due to his anxiety with strangers coming in and out of the home.

Grizzy was heartworm positive. He has recieved treatment. All costs associated with the treatment will continue even after adoption. The foster parent will be able to provide more detailed information.

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.
The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
