Description:

Daphne is approx 2 years or less (her teeth are still fairly white) and weighs approx 45 lbs. She is an amazing dog! She has fit right into our crew here as if she has lived here her whole life. She is VERY smart and has learned to open every door in our house.  We have to make sure doors are locked or she will let herself in or out. She gets along with ALL other dogs. She loves to play with her big red ball and does well with the house training.  Just a few accidents here and there. She can be crated.. but only for short periods of time.  She prefers to roam the house.  I would say she has some minor separation anxiety but she does not destroy stuff she just doesn't like when you leave her. If she does not get to sleep in my room at night.. she will walk the floors all night. Daphne has no food aggression/bone aggression.  She has been known to steal something from the counter though so she might be known as a counter-surfer. When we got her she had some minor thinning of hair.  Not mange like.. just malnourished.  It has improved significantly but  still has a little ways to go. Daphne would make a wonderful companion and family member!

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all dogs before adoption. AVID Microchips are implanted between the dog's shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the dog is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Dogs MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our dogs back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog.

The petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
