Ivan - ADOPTION PENDING's Sponsorship Page
It took a while to get to know Ivan because he was extremely sick with pneumonia when he first came into our rescue and didn't exude much of a personality. Now that he is feeling so much better, his personality is really starting to come out, and he is just as sweet and gentle as the day I first met him. He is instantly loved by everyone who meets him. Ivan is a bit reserved when he first meets people, will check you out, give a sniff, and happily accept pets, but doesn't wag his tail right away and definitely will not jump on you. He is great with other animals, cats included, and all children big and small, young and old. He is an all around laid back boy but gets super excited when I come home from work, will wag his tail, run around, jump on the couch, and exuberantly express his happiness. He is content to do whatever his family is doing, whether that be laying on the couch, going for a walk, or looking for squirrels in the backyard. He is also excellent on a leash. He is not bad in the bath either. He rides well in the car and is crate trained, and while he doesn't seem to understand commands like "sit" he more than makes up for it by being a very good listener and well behaved.
