Description:
Macy is a Treasure, I enjoy fostering her & having her in my home, but she would love to have a family & home of her own! Can it be with you? 1-6-11 Macy is about 3 years old and about 35-40 pounds. She is a female English Pointer. She is a happy and social dog who is very energetic and loves to play and run outside. She has the typical young pointer energy level. She needs a home with a fenced in yard that will let her get out some of her energy. She has great natural pointer instincts but afraid that she is not to keen on gunshots or thunderstorms. She loves to stalk birds, butterflies or blowing leaves. If Macy were any smaller she would be what we call a 'Pocket Pointer'. She currently weighs about 36 pounds & is not very tall, but she could stand to gain about 5+ pounds, she is white & lemon in color. Macy is more interested in birds and snuggling than eating! Macy is beautiful w/ all the chiseled pointer characteristics & very smart she knows wait, stay, no, down, back, outside, come & sit! She could possibly make a good hunter as long as she can also have her snuggle time on the couch & bed w/ her people, she loves to sit on your lap & put her 'arms' around you. She does not seem to have excessive 'high' energy per say but she is very 'birdie' and will point & look for birds constantly when she is outside. Macy loves playing w/ her foster sister- dogs & may 'stalk' & point cats but just wants to give them a 'kiss' when she gets up to them! If you do not have pointer experience please do your homework before applying for Macy she is a very special dog & will only go to the right home. A fenced yard (physical or invisible) or pointer experience is a must. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.Other Pictures of Macy - ADOPTED 02.11.11 (click to see larger version):
