Description:

Update 2/4/2012     Aleah is one happy little dog, and true to her breed, shows it by her friendliness to everyone. Aleah likes to play with her toys and tries to play with the other dogs in the home.  Even with her bum leg, Aleah will race around the house and yard with the other dogs.  After those short bursts of energy she settles down for a nice long nap. She would love to have a playmate her size and laid-back personality to pal around with. Aleah likes to be held and sleep on your lap.

Aleah is looking for a family to give her that extra bit of care she needs to thrive. Because of her rear leg that healed abnormally, Aleah's little bottom often bumps the ground when she goes potty.  Due to this, Aleah needs just a bit more grooming througout the week to make sure she is clean and dry 'down there'.  Aleah is doing wonderful with housebreaking and hasn't had any accidents for some time. She will do best, though, in a home where she can have potty breaks every 5 to 6 hours.  A family with a retired household member, part-timer, or homemaker would be ideal for Aleah.

Aleah recently had her teeth cleaned which resulted in 4 extractions as well.  During the dental cleaning the vet discovered that Aleah was missing 16 other teeth that are presumed to have fallen out or been extracted at a previous time.  Aside from her stiff leg and some itchy skin, Aleah seems quite healthy.  If you are looking for a little lap warmer Aleah may be your girl.  If you have questions about Aleah or want to meet her, please email her foster mom at j-jarrett@att.net .

Aleah is a spunky, happy girl.  She wa s rescued from a high kill shelter in Ohio.  She had been adopted from the shelter, but was returned due to the adopter's son's health problems.  Aleah is soft and fluffy and always waving her tail.  Even though she shivers in the snow she likes to hop around in it.  Aleah is very sweet and calm.  She likes laps and special little treats.  Aleah is about 7 years old and weighs 10.5 pounds.  She was very good for her bath and vet check.  She has a bum leg that she has learned to live with quite well, holding it up and out of the way when she runs, and propping herself up with it when she is standing. Becaus e of her age and size we don't recommend her being in a home with small children. Please consider making this sweetie your furever buddy!

Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal.

Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed.

The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label.

Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.
