Charo - ADOPTED 09.07.09

Charo was just another old dog surrendered by her former owner who got tired of her. At 13 years old, she still had the spunk and alertness of dogs several years younger than her. Charo came with her own pedigree papers showing her family lineage, but a pedigree meant nothing to the couple who saw her on Petfinder.com. One of the family members has bad allergies and they had been searching for a dog that wouldn’t aggravate her allergies more. They had heard that miniature schnauzers, being low-shed dogs, are good for people with allergies. They were delighted to meet Charo and decided that she was just the right dog for their family even though they were told her life expectancy is limited due to her advanced age. Today, Charo, now known as Savannah, is the joy of her adoptive family. They took her on vacation to meet family in Alabama and they reported everyone ‘adored her.’ She is still a spunky little girl and her adoptive family says they thoroughly enjoy her and there have been no problems regarding the allergies.
